New Delhi, October 11, 2025 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday held a high-level meeting with Cristiano R. Amon, President and CEO of Qualcomm, to discuss India’s progress in key technological areas. The leaders focused their conversation on India’s advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), innovation, and skilling initiatives.
Prime Minister Modi conveyed his appreciation for Qualcomm’s ongoing commitment and support toward the Indian government’s ambitious tech missions, specifically the India Semiconductor Mission and the India AI Mission. He highlighted that India is uniquely positioned to lead the technological future, citing its unmatched combination of skilled talent pool and massive scale for building new technologies.
Following the meeting, both leaders shared positive remarks on the social media platform X.
In a post, PM Modi said, “It was a wonderful meeting with Mr. Cristiano R. Amon and discussing India’s strides in AI, innovation and skilling. Great to see Qualcomm’s commitment towards India’s semiconductor and AI missions. India offers unmatched talent and scale to build technologies that will shape our collective future.”
In response, Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon thanked the Prime Minister for the “great conversation” on strengthening the partnership. He noted that Qualcomm is encouraged by the significant opportunities to help develop an Indian tech ecosystem across emerging technologies, including AI smartphones, PCs, smart glasses, automotive, and industrial sectors, in addition to the transition toward 6G technology.
The meeting underscores the Indian government’s continued push to attract global investment and collaboration in the semiconductor and AI sectors as it seeks to establish the country as a global technology manufacturing and innovation hub.
