The polling dates have been set for December 9 and December 11, 2025, with the counting of votes scheduled for December 13, 2025.
The elections will be held across 1,200 local bodies, encompassing 23,576 wards. State Election Commissioner A Shajahan confirmed that the Model Code of Conduct has come into immediate effect across all local bodies as of today.
The election will be conducted as follows:
Phase I: December 9, 2025
The first phase of polling will cover districts in the Southern and Central parts of the state:
- Thiruvananthapuram
- Kollam
- Pathanamthitta
- Alappuzha
- Kottayam
- Idukki
- Ernakulam
Phase II: December 11, 2025
The second phase will cover the remaining districts, primarily in the Central and Northern regions:
- Thrissur
- Malappuram
- Palakkad
- Wayanad
- Kozhikode
- Kannur
- Kasaragod
The outcome of the elections for all 1,200 local bodies will be determined on December 13 with the centralized counting of votes.
