Mumbai/Dubai, November 15, 2025 — Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has been bestowed with a rare honour as a major commercial tower in Dubai was officially unveiled, carrying a name inspired by the actor. The project, titled ‘Shahrukhz by Danube,’ marks the first time an Indian actor has lent his name to a skyscraper of this magnitude.

The landmark announcement was made at a grand launch event in Mumbai on Friday, attended by Shah Rukh Khan and the Founder and Chairman of the Dubai-based Danube Group, Rizwan Sajan. The tower, a 55-storey commercial development on Dubai’s prestigious Sheikh Zayed Road, is set to have a gross saleable value of approximately ₹4,000 crore.

A ‘Deeply Touching’ Honour

 

Speaking at the event, the “King Khan” grew emotional, reflecting on the personal significance of the milestone. While he admitted he rarely names projects after himself, he called the gesture an immense honour.

“My mother would have been very happy. It is a very big honour,” Khan said. “When my kids come, I will say, ‘Papa ka naam likha hai, dekho’ (Look, Papa’s name is written here). I have seen all the details of this building… it is state-of-the-art and affordable. For people who are starting off in Dubai, it will be a moment and an inspiration to make their lives.”

Following the launch, the actor took to social media, describing the event as “humbling and deeply touching” and calling the commercial tower a symbol of how far “belief and hard work can take you.”

Project Details and Iconic Statue

 

Shahrukhz by Danube, a project by Danube Properties, is designed as a Grade-A commercial hub spanning over one million square feet of built-up area. It will feature more than 40 high-end amenities and is strategically located with close proximity to the Burj Khalifa and the airport. Commercial units are reported to start from a price point of around USD 460,000.

Perhaps the most unique feature is the planned tribute to the superstar himself: the tower’s entrance will feature a statue of Shah Rukh Khan immortalised in his iconic open-arms pose, which is expected to become one of Dubai’s most popular selfie spots.

Danube Group Chairman Rizwan Sajan noted that the decision to host the event in Mumbai was deliberate, honouring the actor’s roots. He also confirmed that the agreement ensures Shah Rukh Khan’s name will be associated with the building permanently.

The project is slated for completion by the second quarter of 2029, cementing Shah Rukh Khan’s long-standing connection to Dubai—a city he has often referred to as his “second home.”
