HYDERABAD: The Rachakonda Police Commissionerate has issued a comprehensive traffic advisory for Hyderabad on Saturday, December 13, 2025, in anticipation of the massive crowds expected for the Lionel Messi GOAT Tour – Live Event at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal.

Restrictions and Diversion Timings
Traffic restrictions and diversions will be in effect in the Uppal area and surrounding routes from 12:00 PM to 11:50 PM on Saturday, December 13, 2025.
1. Heavy Vehicle Restrictions
The movement of all heavy vehicles (including lorries, dumpers, water tankers, RMC trucks, and earth movers) will be restricted along key corridors leading to Uppal.

2. General Traffic Diversions (Around Uppal Stadium)
Moderate congestion is expected, and motorists are strongly advised to avoid the following routes and prefer the Hyderabad Metro Rail or TSRTC buses.

Security and VVIP Movement
An extensive security grid, comprising nearly 2,500 police personnel, is being deployed for the event.

VVIP Route: Football legend Lionel Messi is scheduled to land at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) around 4:00 PM. He will travel via a secure Green Channel route to Taj Falaknuma Palace for a special programme, and then proceed to Uppal Stadium for the match scheduled at 7:00 PM IST. The VVIP route is expected to cause temporary disruptions along the Falaknuma–Santoshnagar–Uppal corridor.

Stadium Entry Protocol: Spectators will be permitted entry three hours before kickoff (from 4:00 PM). Entry is strictly based on scanning the valid QR code on mobile tickets. Gate No. 1 is reserved exclusively for players and VVIPs.
Parking Arrangements for Spectators
Authorities have arranged ten major parking locations around the stadium, with nine dedicated to the general public (ticket holders).

Important Note: Vehicles without a valid car pass will not be allowed beyond the EK Minar and LG Godown check posts. Roadside parking is strictly prohibited, and improperly parked vehicles will be towed.
Rachakonda Police Commissioner G. Sudheer Babu has appealed to the public to cooperate with the police, plan their travel in advance, and utilize public transport to ensure the event is conducted smoothly.
