ABU DHABI, UAE – A pall of gloom has descended over the Indian diaspora in the United Arab Emirates following a devastating road accident in Abu Dhabi that claimed the lives of four Indian expatriates, including three siblings and their domestic worker.

The victims, originally hailing from Kerala, were reportedly returning to their residence in Dubai after a trip to the Liwa Festival in the Al Dhafra region when the accident occurred in the early hours of Sunday.

Details of the Tragic Accident

According to preliminary reports and statements from relatives, the family’s vehicle met with the accident while traveling on a major highway. The impact of the crash was so severe that four occupants died on the spot.

Local authorities and emergency services arrived at the scene shortly after the crash, but were unable to revive the four victims. Other members of the family who were also in the vehicle reportedly sustained injuries and are currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital in Abu Dhabi.

Community in Mourning

The news has sent shockwaves through the Keralite community in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Social media has been flooded with condolences for the family, who were well-known among the expat circles.

“It is an unimaginable loss for the family. To lose three children in a single moment is a tragedy no words can describe,” said a close family friend.

Repatriation and Legal Formalities

The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of India in Dubai are reportedly in touch with the local authorities to assist with the legal formalities and the repatriation of the mortal remains to India.

The Abu Dhabi Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash, reminding all motorists to exercise extreme caution, especially during late-night and early-morning travel.
