Mumbai, Feb 2 (PingTV News): In a heartwarming display of Bollywood camaraderie, superstar Salman Khan made a surprise appearance at veteran actor Jackie Shroff’s 69th birthday celebrations. The intimate gathering, hosted by filmmaker Subhash Ghai and his wife Mukta Ghai at their residence, saw the “Tiger” star joining a close-knit group of industry veterans on very short notice.
A “Gracious” Gesture: Subhash Ghai Praises Salman
Filmmaker Subhash Ghai, who launched Jackie Shroff in the 1983 classic Hero, took to Instagram to share his appreciation for Salman’s arrival. Ghai revealed that a simple SMS was all it took for Salman to drop by and brighten the evening.
“Indeed Salman Khan is one of the most gracious stars who respects his seniors in his mind, heart, and gesture too,” Ghai wrote. “He surprised us with his gracious visit at my home and brightened the eve.”
The star-studded guest list included:
-
Meenakshi Seshadri (Jackie’s Hero co-star)
-
Poonam Dhillon
-
Ronit Roy
-
Rumi Jaffery
First Look: Salman Khan’s ‘Galwan’ Transformation
The highlight for fans, however, was Salman’s distinct new look. Sporting a thick, rowdy moustache and a rugged buzz cut, the actor is reportedly deep into the filming of his next major project, ‘Battle of Galwan‘.
Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film is a patriotic war drama based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash. Salman portrays a high-ranking officer (Colonel), and his physical transformation has already set social media ablaze. The film is slated for a grand theatrical release on April 17, 2026.
Jackie Shroff at 69: The “Hero” Forever
For “Jaggu Dada,” the evening was a nostalgic trip down memory lane. Ghai, who has collaborated with Jackie on hits like Ram Lakhan and Khalnayak, called him his “Hero forever.” The celebration focused on simplicity and long-standing friendships rather than typical Bollywood glitz, echoing Jackie Shroff’s own down-to-earth persona.
