HYDERABAD – Telangana is all set for a massive democratic exercise as the State Election Commission (TSEC) completes final preparations for the 2026 Municipal Elections. A total of 123 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), including 7 Municipal Corporations and 116 Municipalities, will head to the polls tomorrow, Wednesday, February 11, 2026.
With the high-decibel campaign coming to a close yesterday, the state has entered the mandatory 48-hour silence period. As of today, February 10, security has been tightened across all polling regions to ensure a peaceful voting process.
Key Highlights of the 2026 Municipal Polls

Total Wards: 2,996 (414 in Corporations; 2,582 in Municipalities).

Voter Base: Approximately 52.43 lakh eligible voters.

Political Stakes: A major test for the Congress government under CM A. Revanth Reddy against BRS, BJP, and AIMIM.

Exclusion: These polls do not include the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), which follows a different cycle.

Public Notice: A local holiday has been declared for February 11, 2026, in all participating municipal areas. Schools and colleges acting as polling stations will remain closed.
No Voter ID? No Problem!
Many voters worry about missing their physical Voter ID (EPIC) card. However, as per TSEC and ECI guidelines reaffirmed in late 2025, you can still vote if your name is on the Electoral Roll.

Locate Your Booth: Your “Voter Slip” helps find your booth but remember—it is not an identity proof.
Timing: Polling begins at 7:00 AM and concludes at 5:00 PM. Reach early to avoid the afternoon rush.
