Hyderabad | February 11, 2026 – Polling for the Telangana Municipal Elections 2026 is currently underway across the state. In a crucial test for the A. Revanth Reddy-led Congress government, voters in 7 municipal corporations and 116 municipalities began casting their ballots at 7:00 AM today.

  • Suryapet District: Recorded 9.58% in the first two hours.

  • Key Hotspots: Higher footfalls are being reported in Warangal, Nizamabad, and Karimnagar as the day progresses.

The Political Stakes: A Three-Way Battle

This election is widely regarded as a midterm referendum for the Congress party, which aims to replicate its 2023 Assembly success in urban centers. Meanwhile, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) is fighting to retain its influence in traditional strongholds, and the BJP, bolstered by an alliance with Jana Sena (JSP), is making a significant push for urban dominance.

 

Key Note: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is scheduled to cast his vote in his home constituency, Kodangal, later this afternoon.
