TBILISI/BATUMI, GEORGIA | November 16, 2025: Pujya Swami Brahmaviharidas, Head of the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi, delivered a profound message to the global medical community this weekend, challenging practitioners to “ReInvent Yourself” by placing deep human values at the core of their demanding profession.

Addressing an audience of over 700 professionals, including doctors, educators, and medical students across two keynote addresses in Tbilisi and Batumi, Georgia, the Swami stressed that true, effective healing must start not just with the treatment, but with the healer themselves.

The Three Pillars of Reinvention

Swami Brahmaviharidas outlined three non-clinical virtues he believes are essential for the future of medicine, urging the attendees to integrate them into their daily practice:

  1. Purpose: Understanding their career not merely as a job but as a divine opportunity for selfless service and profound personal change.

  2. Resilience: Cultivating the mental and emotional strength necessary to absorb the immense pressure, emotional toll, and chronic burnout prevalent in the high-stakes healthcare environment.

  3. Compassion: Approaching every patient with genuine empathy, recognizing the patient’s complete person—their fears, hopes, and relationships—rather than seeing them only as an illness or a case file.

“If you are merely treating the symptom, you are a technician. If you are healing the individual holistically, you are a true healer,” Swami Brahmaviharidas stated. “The advancement of medicine is not solely about technology; it is about the enduring values of humanity.”

BAPS Mandir as a Symbol of Collective Purpose

During his address, the Swami cited the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi as a living example of the power of collective purpose and harmony. The Mandir, the Middle East’s first traditional stone temple, was described as a “global symbol of unity” made possible by the visionary support and generosity of the UAE leadership.

He noted, “This temple serves as a powerful metaphor for what humanity can build on a foundation of love, harmony, and mutual respect. It is a testament that the impossible becomes possible when people work together with a unified heart.”

A Global Stage for a Universal Message

The keynotes, hosted across two major cities in Georgia, underscored the universal need for this message in global healthcare. The distinguished attendees included high-ranking diplomatic and educational figures, highlighting the institutional recognition of the talk’s significance.

Prominent figures present included:

  • Dr. Goderdzi Buchashvili, Chairman of the Council of Higher and General Educational Institutions.

  • Subbu Ramesh, Charge d’Affaires and Head of Chancery from the Embassy of India in Georgia.

  • Dr. Gia Kavtelishvili, Founder and Rector of the Georgian National University SEU.

Capping the visit, and with the blessings of His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj, the spiritual head of BAPS, Swami Brahmaviharidas also laid the foundation for two new BAPS Culture Centres in Tbilisi and Batumi, establishing a lasting legacy of cross-cultural dialogue and service in the region.

The call to ‘ReInvent Yourself’ by the BAPS Mandir head is a profound challenge to doctors worldwide: to ensure that the future of medicine is not just highly skilled and technically advanced, but remains deeply human, empathetic, and unified.
