The Mumbai Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against six individuals, including the Managing Director (MD) of a pharmaceutical company, following a complaint filed by a 51-year-old city businesswoman. The woman alleges she was held at gunpoint, stripped naked, physically assaulted, and blackmailed inside the company’s Mahalaxmi office in January 2023.

The complaint was registered at the NM Joshi Marg Police Station following a detailed submission by the victim.

Allegations of Intimidation and Assault

According to the FIR, the businesswoman, who runs a photo frame and gifting business, was summoned to the company’s second-floor office on Dr. E Moses Road for what she believed was a routine work-related meeting.

Upon arrival, the situation allegedly turned hostile. The complainant stated that the main accused, identified as the Managing Director of the pharmaceutical firm, struck her with the butt of a revolver on her shoulder and back. She further alleged that she was forced into a cabin where the MD held the revolver to her head, coercing her to remove all her clothing.

The FIR states that the accused recorded videos and took photographs of the victim in a state of undress and threatened to upload the explicit visuals online and make them go viral if she did not comply with their demands. She was reportedly forced to make a false statement and threatened with being implicated in a fabricated legal case if she informed anyone about the incident.

Case Registered Against Six Individuals

Based on the severity of the allegations, the Mumbai Police have filed a case against a total of six people, including the MD.

The accused have been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Information Technology (IT) Act, specifically:

  • IPC 354A: Sexual harassment.

  • IPC 354B: Assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to disrobe.

  • IPC 326: Voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means (due to the alleged use of the revolver butt).

  • IPC 509: Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman.

  • IPC 506: Criminal intimidation.

  • IT Act 66A: For recording and threatening to release explicit content.

A police official from the NM Joshi Marg Police Station confirmed that a detailed investigation is underway. Technical evidence, including CCTV footage from the office premises and surrounding areas, is being collected to corroborate the victim’s complaint. The police continue to investigate the matter thoroughly.
