Tokyo/Hyderabad | February 7, 2026 – The “Pushpa Wildfire” has officially reached the Land of the Rising Sun. Sukumar’s magnum opus, Pushpa 2: The Rule, has scripted history by entering the list of the Top 10 highest-grossing Indian films in Japan just 14 days after its release on January 16, 2026.

Despite a massive runtime of nearly 3 hours and 40 minutes, the film has resonated with Japanese audiences, particularly in major cities like Tokyo and Osaka.

Surpassing Dhoom 3: The Numbers Game

According to trade reports from Sacnilk, Pushpa 2 has amassed ¥105 million (approx. ₹6.06 crore) in its first two weeks. With this steady performance, it has officially overtaken the long-standing record of Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3, which had held the 10th spot with ¥104.5 million since 2014.

The film’s success is being attributed to a high-octane promotional tour by Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, who visited Tokyo last month. A clip of Allu Arjun delivering his iconic “Thaggedhe Le” dialogue in Japanese went viral, fueling the initial momentum.

Where Pushpa 2 Stands: The Japan Leaderboard

While Pushpa 2 has made a grand entry, it still has a steep mountain to climb to reach the top. SS Rajamouli’s RRR remains the undisputed king of the Japanese market, being the only Indian film to cross the ¥2 billion mark.

Top 10 Indian Films in Japan (as of Feb 2026):

  1. RRR – ¥2.42 Billion

  2. Muthu – ¥405 Million

  3. Baahubali 2: The Conclusion – ¥305 Million

  4. 3 Idiots – ¥170 Million

  5. English Vinglish – ¥160 Million

  6. The Lunchbox – ¥150 Million

  7. Saaho – ¥131 Million

  8. Magadheera – ¥130.1 Million

  9. Enthiran (Robot) – ¥109.6 Million

  10. Pushpa 2: The Rule – ¥105 Million (In 14 Days)

The Global Pushpa Phenomenon

Pushpa 2’s performance in Japan adds to its staggering worldwide collection, which has already surpassed ₹1,870 crore. Trade analysts expect the film to challenge the lifetime figures of Rajinikanth’s Enthiran and SS Rajamouli’s Magadheera in the coming weeks if the positive word-of-mouth continues.

For Allu Arjun, this represents a major breakthrough, as Pushpa 2 is the first film in the franchise to release in Japan, bypassing a theatrical run for the first part in the country.
