Ranveer Singh Dhurandhar in Netflix

MUMBAI, February 11, 2026Ranveer Singh’s latest espionage powerhouse, Dhurandhar, has officially transitioned from a theatrical blockbuster to a global streaming phenomenon. Since its digital premiere on January 30, 2026, the Aditya Dhar directorial has amassed a staggering 15.8 million views on Netflix within its first 10 days, setting a new benchmark for Indian cinema on the platform.

Breaking Down the Record-Breaking Numbers

According to the latest Netflix Tudum charts, Dhurandhar debuted with 7.6 million views in its opening weekend (Jan 30 – Feb 1). The momentum intensified in its first full week (Feb 2–8), adding another 8.2 million views.

This performance places Dhurandhar as the #1 Non-English film globally, outpacing recent heavyweights like Animal (11.7M), Crew (14.3M), and Fighter (12.4M) in the same two-week timeframe.

Global Footprint and Cross-Border Appeal

The film’s success isn’t limited to the domestic market. Dhurandhar has topped charts in 11 countries, showing remarkable resonance in:

  • India & Pakistan: Despite no theatrical release in Pakistan, the film is the #1 trending title.

  • The Gulf & SE Asia: Ranking in the Top 10 across Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and the UAE.

Industry analysts suggest the film’s “bruised-knuckle” realism and Ranveer Singh’s portrayal of Hamza Ali Mazari—an undercover operative infiltrating the Karachi underworld—have struck a chord with international audiences seeking gritty, grounded action over traditional “glossy” spy thrillers.

Can it Topple ‘RRR’?

The industry is now watching to see if Dhurandhar can challenge the all-time Indian record held by SS Rajamouli’s RRR, which garnered over 44 million views. While Dhurandhar is currently ahead of RRR’s initial 10-day pace, surpassing it will depend on its “legs” (longevity) over the next month.

“The sustained interest in Dhurandhar is unprecedented for a post-theatrical release,” says a leading trade analyst. “Usually, views peak in week one and drop. Here, they grew.”

Looking Ahead: ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’

The timing of this streaming surge couldn’t be better for the producers. The highly anticipated sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge (also known as Dhurandhar 2), is set for a massive pan-India theatrical release on March 19, 2026.

The sequel will see the return of the ensemble cast, including Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, and R. Madhavan, and is expected to clash with major festivals like Eid and Ugadi. Notably, the OTT rights for the sequel have reportedly been bagged by Jio Hotstar in a record-breaking deal, moving away from Netflix for the second installment.
